EMC Engineering Services, consulting firm for Upson County, recently celebrated its 45th anniversary since being founded in Savannah in November 1978.
With 11 office locations, including one at 103 North Center Street in Thomaston, EMC is strategically located to provide local planning, surveying, geotechnical, engineering, landscape, architecture, and construction phase services.
Chief Operations Officer Chris Brazell works closely with Upson’s board of commissioners and staff, attending monthly BOC work sessions at Thomaston-Upson Airport and several regular commission meetings at the East Lee Street government complex. He also monitors annual TSPLOST road resurfacing projects for the county.

“This anniversary celebration gave our team an opportunity to gather and reflect on our great firm from its beginnings to where we are now,” Brazell said of the recent milestone. “We have endured for 45 years through many uncontrollable circumstances, which is a testament to our previous and current leadership team. Our team, our clients, and our colleagues are the catalyst that will keep us going into the future.”
BOC Chairman Norman Allen and County Manager Jason Tinsley say the relationship is beneficial to Upson.

EMC celebrated at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville with shareholders and company officials, featuring a day of team building activities and two nights of nostalgic music and videos, as well as reflection on the firm’s growth.
