Bostick Nut Farms, located in Camilla, a small southwest Georgia town east of the Flint River, is a family owned and operated pecan business. Pecans, loved and enjoyed around the world, are a huge Georgia export. Around 80% of the world’s pecans come from the United States. Georgia is proud to be the nation’s top producing state with an estimated 100 million pounds produced annually. With over 40 years experience harvesting top quality pecans, Bostick’s growth required a larger warehouse facility. EMC was pleased to provide professional engineering and surveying services for a their new 60,000 SF warehouse, which included: preparation of boundary and topographical existing condition surveying, planning, permitting and site engineering for approximately 9.67 acres. Site engineering consisted of: preparation of site construction working drawings based upon the approved preliminary site plan, such as: cover, general notes, legend/typical section, existing conditions/demolition plan, site plan (including dimensions), paving, grading/drainage plan, utility plan (water/sewer system as needed), three phase erosion sediment/ pollution control plan, drainage/sewer profiles (as needed) and construction details, as well as, preparation and submittal of site development plans to relevant local and state review agencies, and development of normal designs, calculations, computations, details and specifications required for regulatory approval.
