The new handicap-accessible playgrounds consist of playground equipment, shade structures, benches, tables, storage buildings, rubber safety surface areas, curbs, sidewalks, handicap ramps, retaining walls, fencing, storm drainage systems, landscaping, and turf areas. The civil/site work on these projects have included erosion and sedimentation control BMPs, selective clearing and demolition, stormwater drainage systems and detention facilities, grading of sidewalks, surfacing, and pavement in accordance with ADA guidelines.
EMC Engineering Services, Inc. has worked with Lifecycle in the planning, design and construction phases of these projects. Specific services provided by EMC included:
- Facility Needs Assessments, Scope Development and Conceptual Planning
- Topographic and Boundary surveys of the project sites
- Preparation of phased construction plans and specifications in accordance with DoD guidelines
- Permitting of projects through Base Public Works and DoD
- Construction staking and materials testing services
- Project closeout documentation
