EMC Engineering Services, Inc. provided design and construction overview and on-site inspection services for the Derenne Avenue Stormwater Pump Station which was constructed to provide flood relief in the Casey South Drainage Basin in Savannah, GA that includes the 63rd Street Drainage System. Construction phase services included conducting project meetings, resident project representation, shop drawing review, pay request review, problem resolution, asbuilt surveys and record drawings. Project included:
- 32-ft below-grade, cast-in-place concrete wetwell (8,700 CY) with piling (10,800 LF) for: eleven 71,368 gpm electric-motor driven submersible pumps and draft tubes, control building, and four 25-foot-wide mechanical barscreens
- Cast in place below grade concrete and fabriform entrance and exit channels
- Site paving, drainage and utility improvements
- Cast-in-place concrete box culverts with sheet pile wall for four 8’x6’ electric motor-driven sluice gates
- Installation of sheetpile cofferdam to construct the pump station
