Description: Fort Gordon, established in 1941 as a World War II training camp, covers approximately 56,000 acres of land southwest of Augusta, Georgia. Originally known as Camp Gordon, it was named for native Georgian, LTG John Brown Gordon. Becoming a permanent Army installation in 1956 and re-designated as Fort Gordon, it is home to Cyber Command, as well as housing the U.S. Signal Corps, which is responsible for providing and maintaining information systems and communication networks. The EMC Survey field crew performed topography and as-built of project area, which was necessary for the production of drawings for the project, road improvements and a new round-about.
