The Georgia Bureau of Investigation broke ground on their new crime lab site in Pooler, Georgia in 2017.
On August 12, 2019 they celebrated the completion of the project with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The
new lab is much larger than the 30-year-old lab in Savannah that it will replace, with over 64,000 square
feet.
The modern three-story facility will allow the GBI to double their staff size, contain enough space for
future growth, as well as having the latest scientific equipment to meet the growing demand of forensic
services in the state.
EMC was pleased to be a part of this project by providing planning, environmental permitting, surveying,
civil engineering, landscape architecture, and construction phase services. Civil/Site work included
an entrance road, parking lots, fencing, retaining walls, sidewalks, utilities, stormwater management
systems, and lighting.
