The Georgia Southern University Shooting Sports Education Center is a 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art public facility equipped to serve a variety of shooting sports interests. The facility holds a 16-lane, 25-meter firing range, a 25-meter archery center, training/seminar rooms, offices, and a shop. The center serves as a hub for shooting sports in Southeast Georgia and provides education, recreation, competitions and special events.
EMC Engineering Services, Inc. worked on a design/build team with Lyman Davidson Dooley, Inc. Architects (Marietta, Georgia) and Ajax Building Corporation (Alpharetta, Georgia) to provide master planning services, civil engineering design and construction phase services for the project. The center opened in August 2015.
EMC was selected to provide professional services for the Phase II expansion in 2016. Phase II consists of various outdoor ranges including a beginner range, Olympic range, 3-D range and control center.
