EMC’s Statesboro Branch continued its relationship with BPR Properties in providing engineering services for Statesboro’s new Hampton Inn and Suites. Strategically located near Georgia Southern University, East Georgia Regional Medical Center and the Marketplace Retail Center, the Hampton Inn provides 90 guest rooms, meeting spaces, and an outdoor pool and fitness center.
After performing a topographic and boundary survey, the Statesboro Branch worked closely with BPR Properties to develop a site plan to meet the client’s needs. Once a final architectural and site plan was decided on, EMC began site design and coordinated with the City of Statesboro to obtain several rezoning and variances for the property. The engineering scope of work included a site plan, paving, grading and drainage plan, utilities plan, erosion control plan, roadway and drainage profiles, sanitary sewer profiles, and construction details. EMC also provided landscaping design to meet hotel corporate, city and subdivision requirements.
During construction phase, EMC provided Bidding/Contract Negotiation to help the client select a contractor, weekly NPDES Monitoring and Construction Material Testing.
The hotel brought much needed hotel space for Hospital Visitors and Georgia Southern University events.
