Georgia Southwestern State University opened the second and final phase of the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex in 2013. The project consisted of the construction of two buildings (Carter 1 and 2) with associated site improvements. The Carter I Building, with an estimated construction value of $20 million, consists of 46,000 square feet of classroom and clinical spaces for the School of Nursing and Health Center. The Carter II Building, with an estimated construction value of $15 million, provides the 35,000-square-foot home to the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving (RCI), the Psychology and Sociology (Psych/Soc) Departments and lab space for nursing science courses.
EMC provided surveying, engineering and construction phase services for both phases of the project. The scope of work included a topographic survey, water and sewer design, storm water system design, site engineering, landscape architectural services, and construction administration.
