In July of 2015, Logistec sustained serious fire damage to two warehouses and all of their towers at its bulk handling facilities at the Georgia Port Authority’s Brunswick terminal. These facilities had been significantly upgraded over the previous five years, specifically to handle biomass, wood pellets. This project consisted of a re-development of the portion of 15-acre industrial site that was damaged by this fire. More specifically, the project included a new 138,375-square-foot bulk shed, towers, a master control center building, asphalt and concrete pavement, a storm drainage system, and water and sanitary sewer services.
EMC worked as part of a design/build team with Clark Nexsen and Allen & Graham Contractors to design and construct a new warehouse to meet the needs of Logistec USA. Specific services provided by EMC included:
- Preparation of Topographic Survey of the project site
- Preparation and permitting of construction plans that included a Demolition Plan, Staking and Utility Plan, Paving, Grading and Drainage Plan, Storm and Sanitary Profiles, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans, and Construction Details
- Provided professional stormwater management services
- Provided project closeout documentation including record drawings
