Royal Cinemas & IMAX Theater is a state-of-the-art, 13-screen theater complex located near Savannah, Georgia. The theater was developed in two phases on a 6-acre parcel of land at Towne Center Drive in the Godley Station area of Pooler.
The first phase of the project included a 31,000-square-foot facility including screening rooms of four different sizes ranging from 75 to 213 seats, with a total capacity of 1,278. The cinema also included a large concession/café area and an arcade room. The second phase of the project included the addition of an IMAX theater and two smaller screening rooms. The expansion increased the facility to 13 screening rooms, making the theater one of the largest in the state, at over 44,000 square feet and 1,765 seats. The IMAX features state-of-the-art electronics, a 40’ x 70’ concave screen, and 350 stadium seats for the ultimate movie viewing experience.
The building style is a clean, modern look with concrete walls, metal panels and a glass curtain wall across the entry facade. The concrete walls were poured on-site and assembled using tilt-up construction methods. Attractive landscaping and 320 parking spaces provide plenty of inviting and convenient parking for moviegoers who eagerly waited for a theater to serve this growing area.
