The project consists of a new 10-acre recreation water park in Pooler, GA. The 1st phase of the park, which has a capacity of 1,000 patrons, features a lazy river, a four-slide tower complex, a double flow rider (simulated surfing), a kids wet deck, and two beach entry swimming areas. Support buildings include restrooms and showers, ticket and administrative offices, a retail store, and a concession building. A filter building and pump house provide the necessary water quality and flow requirements for the water features. The building facilities were designed large enough to accommodate future phases. The parking lot includes an initial 350 paved spaces expandable to 450. Another 12 acres of land is available for water park activities and parking. Stormwater run-off is detained on site within a permanent pond that was designed as an integral feature of the park.
EMC Engineering Services, Inc. provided complete site design services for the project including master planning, civil and geotechnical engineering, landscape and irrigation design, survey, and construction phase services. The park opened in the spring of 2015.
