DESCRIPTION:
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) manages all of the state’s technical colleges. Utilizing the latest technology, TCSG
provides the best and most readily available technical education, adult education, customized and industry-specific training
programs that spur lifelong economic and workforce development benefits. With approximately 72% of the nation’s freight being
moved via truck, there is a high demand for qualified truck drivers, thus producing increased enrollment and interest in TCSG’s
Commercial Truck Driving Program. With Georgia being the Southeast’s logistic and transportation hub, Governor Kemp on
January 10, 2022 announced the award of $8.32 million in funds to TCSG as part of the Education-to-Workforce pipeline for
Commercial Drivers to support the state’s needs for commercial drivers and workforce training opportunities. Five TCSG locations
received funds dedicated to new Commercial Truck Driving ranges, which were Columbus Technical College, Georgia Piedmont
Technical College, Oconee Fall Line Technical College, Southeastern Technical College, and Southern Crescent Technical College.
EMC Engineering Services, Inc. is pleased to work with TCSG on this important project providing all the necessary surveying,
geotechnical engineering, civil engineering/design, and construction administration services required for these four CDL training
facilities and driving range courses that will provide excellent infrastructure for student truckers for years to come.
