Environmental Site Assessments The contamination of our soil and groundwater has been a major concern for many years. Environmental hazards caused by leachates from landfills, leaking fuel tanks, industrial waste discharges, and other sources can cause irreparable damage to our environment, particularly our groundwater. Federal and state laws have been enacted that make property owners responsible for damage caused by hazardous waste on their property. This includes damage caused to adjacent properties, whether or not the property owner caused the hazardous wastes to be present. These laws have made it prudent to investigate for the presence of contaminants on any property being purchased and to perform remediation measures on those sites where contaminants are known to be present. Environmental Site Assessment Services at EMC can provide the existing and potential property owners with this information.
The process includes a variety of services, from initial consultations with property owners for a Phase I ESA to Certifications of Compliance following the Phase III ESA remediation. EMC has provided these services for existing and proposed commercial, industrial, residential, and institutional facilities in addition to EPD designated Hazardous Substance Release Sites. Clients have included private developers, industries, commercial businesses, architects, state and federal agencies, countries, and municipalities. Providing these services are experienced professional engineers, groundwater scientists, professional geologists, bonded groundwater monitoring well drillers, and OSHA Hazardous Materials Trained personnel.
